Conservatives for Al-Qaida

So, why do fanatics keep blowing things up in England? Well, I'd say because they're nuts, right? Sick and warped people whose actions are clearly evil, right? You know, being fairly liberal, I'd say that we need to defend ourselves with great force against these fanatics who want to destroy us to satisfy their sick dark ages world-view. And one might expect Brit conservatives to agree with that.

Nope. According to Minette Marrin, the fanatics have a point in killing us because, well we are too liberal. To quote: "They despise us for our decadence, and I feel more and more forced to accept the painful truth that they have a point."

What?

She doesn't stop there. According to Marinn, her countrymen got what they had coming because:
1) Standards for public behavior have fallen too low,
2) University kids drink too much,
3) Hospitals are unsanitary,
4) Parents don't discipline their children,
5) Political correctness, multiculturalism and the usual suspects still exist, and the grand capper, 6) "The Sixties" screwed up everything.
You know, all the typical conservative bugaboos. So, she thinks that some good can come from all of this if it renews the Brit "sense of purpose and new sense of conviction." Surely, she doesn't really believe that British conservatism can turn to the moral guidance of al-Quaida to save society from the Sixties? Or that drunk frat boys prove the fanatics right? Is she completely insane?

Cultural Conservatives: The front-line in the war against straw-men.
