Continuation of last post

To add to that last epic post, here's something I've wondered whether advocates of Intelligent Design realize:

If there was direct scientific (in other words, empirical) evidence of the existence of God, there would then be no faith.

Faith requires trust in something that cannot be seen- what Kierkegaard called a "leap of faith". But, if God was proven by the senses, believing in Him would be no different than believing in an apple. And, in that case, would require no leap of faith whatsoever. Life would no longer be a "test" of faith. In other words, having faith in God would mean no more than having faith in that apple. It would be sense perception, and not religious belief. We could not be "saved" because we would never really be in danger since we would all logically believe in the God who stopped in to chat with us.

So, why should religious faith be scientifically-tested?
