O Canada, our boned and native land...

Canadian porn?

Well, why not? A new softcore porn channel is planning to make Canadian-themed smut shot in Canada. No doubt casting all of those farmgirls who came to Regina thinking that they were going to become movie stars!

Anyway, I've no idea what they're going to call these Canadian porn films. "The Regina Monologues"? "Fucking, eh!"? "No Hockey Tonight"? "Back Bacon"? "Hot 'n' Horny Hosers"?

Any suggestions?

It's like .. Minnesota-themed porn!

Serious question: is it pronounced Regeena or Regeyena?

It's the second- basically like vagina, which is the basis of endless jokes here.

When I first moved here, I thought a lot of the midwest. Actually, most Canadians sound like characters in Fargo to me.

I used to work for a company in Dallas. We were bought by my current employer. HR got on the line for a conference call after the acquisition .. and it was all we could do not to start cracking Fargo jokes about their accents.

Six years on that accent sounds normal to me now. And my kids are sprinkling their speech with 'Wisconsinisms' and rooting for the Packers.

eh. you're both wrong, but i enjoyed the characterization of my people. montreal has an extremely healthy porn industry (and, as a result, we have a healthy soft-core friday night channel with shows called "kink" etc.)

don't think the prairies will be getting involved. they need to get up at 5 am to milk the coooos. for this reason they even defy daylight savings time. yep. nothing sexy about that.

Nothing sexy? There are like a million porno movies that begin with a girl from the prairies milking a cow.

dude...you've clearly never been to saskatchewan. lovely, but i think sexy would be pushing it.

Uh... you sure you're not thinking of the time you watched the soft core adaptation of Tess of the D'Urbervilles too many times in one weekend?

Well, maybe it was Benny Hill. I remember "yackity sax" playing.
