Quote-Unquote

"All actions take place in time by the interweaving of the forces of Nature; but the man lost in selfish delusion thinks that he himself is the actor."
-The Bhagavad Gita (3:27)

(Incidentally, no one should take my quoting a source from the "non-west" as an attempt at "indoctrination"!)

Like all successful religious assertions, this is rather cryptic and open to interpretation. Is this saying that free will is an illusion?

That's what I found interesting about it. Apparently, Krishna is saying that it is an illusion for the "unwise man", but not for the wise man. Why? The next line is:
"But the man who knows the relations of the forces of Nature and actions, sees how some forces of Nature work upon other forces of Nature, and becomes not their slave."

Maybe he's just saying it's a good idea to study physics.
