This, of course, assumes you're not speaking in some kind of impenetrable Styrian dialect (I'm looking at YOU Graz)- It is far more regular than English. Is it a fair trade for declensions?Greg von Winckelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00187475294800057360noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10166090.post-88970020235876470082007-09-07T08:32:00.000-07:002007-09-07T08:32:00.000-07:00Admittedly, I miss all sorts of words. 'I before E, except after C, and in words that sound like A, such as neighbor and weigh, and also the word 'weird', which is weirdly-spelled, and pretty much whenever the fuck we want to spell it E before I. I definitely have great sympathy for people trying to learn the language.Rufushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17762279210783841414noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10166090.post-24661489270569001232007-09-07T07:57:00.000-07:002007-09-07T07:57:00.000-07:00I wish I could believe that it is because people a...I wish I could believe that it is because people are such die hard fans of the standard i before e orthography, but empirical evidence points to people just not knowing how to spell.Greg von Winckelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00187475294800057360noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10166090.post-32216036140857023182007-09-07T07:01:00.000-07:002007-09-07T07:01:00.000-07:00Also, for the record, that's the title from You Tu...Also, for the record, that's the title from You Tube. One thing I just noticed the last time I watched it- when they're in the hospital, all of the announcements on the PA system are references to W.S.Burroughs books 'Dr. Benway to surgery.' 'Mr. Lee, please put down that scalpel.' etc.

Holly- It does explain why I've been thinking 'plate of shrimp' for the last two months straight.Rufushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17762279210783841414noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10166090.post-91088535533554350702007-09-07T01:34:00.000-07:002007-09-07T01:34:00.000-07:00He's probably right about more driving = less inte...He's probably right about more driving = less intelligence.
