Somewhere LeVar Burton is Silently weeping

Q: Why can't Johnny read?
A: He's from Jackson County, Oregon.

Actually, our county had the same problem last year. The county was broke. Most of the libraries were shut down. People were outraged! They would do anything to save the libraries! The county suggested raising taxes. People were outraged! They would do anything to avoid paying higher taxes! Finally, someone found the funds. All they had to do was cut a few other public services. So we can pave the potholes with library books, I suppose. Anyway, if anyone ever asks me, and nobody ever does, I'm okay with paying taxes for libraries.
